Ca Vs Bordeaux

The story of Tourelles begins with the vintage 1986, when AXA Millesimes took over Château Pichon-Longueville. Thanks to a new, ultra-modern winery, combined with the expertise and experience among winemakers, the opportunity was the right thing to create a second wine to their first wine and an attractive Pauillac for wine lovers who do not want to wait for the wine to mature in the cellar. When parts of the vineyard was replanted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc in the late eighties was Tourelles more style and personality. Since then, the wine is marked by its terroir, elegance of each variety and each vintage unique style.

Petit Figeac is a 2.5 acre vineyard located in the heart of the castle Figeac estate. Petit Figeac was acquired by the family MANONCOURT 2002nd It is incorrect to regard this as a second wine but is actually created to be a style typical introduction to Figeac. Petit Figeac since vintage 2006 considered a "micro-cuvée" from some of Chateau Figeac best parts. You will see this wine as an ambassador for Figeac, who proudly sums up the unique style of Figeac Cabernet Sauvignon is often accompanied with a touch of Merlot.

Edward Sellers is a boutique winery specializing in small lots of handmade American
Rhône-style wines from Paso Robles, California. Although modeled after the great French wines from the Rhône River Valley in France, our ultra-premium wines speak distinctly of their progressive California Central Coast origins. The Rhône varietals of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Counoise, Cinsault, Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier and Grenache Blanc are carefully handpicked from the finest vineyards found on the calcareous-rich hillsides of Western Paso Robles. Each of these vineyards has been strategically planted in small blocks to maximize the vineyards’ own unique soils, microclimate and character. It is this terroir that produces the finest Rhône varietals found on California’s Coast.
Combining this exceptional terroir with our approach to winemaking, we are producing an elegant, structured, well balanced wine, with a luscious velvety mouth feel and intense fruit concentration. I know you will enjoy them!
2007 Edward Sellers Cognito - The 2007 Cognito (35% Mourvèdre, 25% Zinfandel, and the balance Syrah and Grenache) is a head-turner. Its dark ruby/garnet color is followed by a sexy, hedonistic, evolved wine revealing a complex bouquet of tobacco leaf, juicy black cherries and strawberries, ground pepper, and spice box. This plump, opulent, full-bodied, luscious 2007 should be consumed over the next 2-3 years.
Cabernet from Santa Ynez Valley is quite different than those grown in Napa Valley. We are in a cooler region so the wines tend to have a bit more natural acidity and structure and less alcohol and over-ripe flavors. Named after a Kentucky Derby winning filly that was raised in Santa Ynez Valley just dow the road from this vineyard. Aged for 18 months in 30% new oak, 500 cases produced.
